PC: Generic gamepad fix (right analog stick).

I have a rainbow usb gamepad (ps2 gamepad clone) and the right analog stick doesn’t work. It happened in FIFA 07 too. I solved it editing the devdata.dat file and here is the result:

If you want to try it, just copy that file in “My documents\FIFA 08\user” replacing the old one (make a backup of the old file, just in case) and tell me if it worked for you.

The camera doen’t lock after i press the left analog stick.

Lino you’re the best. being trying to find solution to the problem and you solved by me just pasting your fix into my FIFA 08. I’m using a PS2 gamepad with PS2 to USB converter and it works fine with your fix.

I’ve downloaded the and replaced the old one but all that happens is that in menus it keeps scrolling up even if i dont push anything.

Hi this fix only makes it so i can use skill moves i can not control the goal keeper at all but i can skill im useing a playstation usb controler converter any suggestions ?

Hi, yeah i makes the trick stick work but the left stick does not work for things like GK controll and manual crosses. I am also using PS2 USB controller converter. any ideas?
didn’t help.. as i suspected.. that stupid gamepad still does the same thing – when you pull him f.e. right, he does just what the button nr. 2 does, if you pull it left – the same thing as nr. 4 button… plz if anyone faced same prolbem and can help me, contact me. my skype: “tankasxxl”, my e-mail is road_4×4@yahoo.com… thank you
Great stuff! works well for tricks but unfortunately doesn’t do anything for GK control, a shame..

Great patch! thanks!! im using a ps2 pad with a usb converter, your patch fixed the right stick so i can perform the skill moves, but does not work for GK controls or player switching.

Amazing, this works! Can you tell us how you did? I would like to have some mapping for the tactics to and If we know how you did we can try to add those as well.

I can’t change my tactics with my controller. Whatever I do the numpad doesn’t work on my logitech wireless rumblepad 2. Did anybody had more luck?

Hey, it did work for me, but the right analog stick is still with some issues, like, it is all mixed up the directions. For exemple, when i move to left, it goes down, down it goes right. what can i do to fix it?
I have the same problem as arthur… the axis of the right analog are messed up.. left-right is up-down and viceversa
Ditto… This does activate the right stick.. but the axes are muddled. Up/Down motion is translated on screen as Left/Right.
Think you could fix that mate ?

Thanks for the file. Couldn’t understand why my cheap controller was doing everything apart from the tricks. File sorted everything out for me.
